Happy Halloween everybody! Another month has gone by without me realizing and it means that it's time for me to to share my October favourites!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation // I have been using this everyday since I bought it and as you can tell I really like it. It is a medium coverage foundation and I feel like it gives a really natural look and that is why it has been a staple in my school makeup routine.

Accessorize Polish in First Dance // At this time of year darker polishes definitely are better but I have been wearing this really light pink shade which I guess is more suitable for spring time! It goes on really nice and opaque without being streaky.

Tmart Bamboo Blush Brush* // This brush is literally amazing! It is from a set of 11 brushes that I was kindly sent (review coming soon) and it is made out of the softest fibers. The handle also looks lovely since it is actually made out of bamboo wood. I find that it has the perfect size and shape for my cheeks.

Have you ever used any of these products?

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Halloween :)

Halloween makeup, ripped mouth, dripping bood

Hello! Today I was feeling in the mood for trying some Halloween makeup so I decided to try out this makeup look. Since I liked how it turned out I thought that I might as well share it with you!

I started off with my normal foundation and instead of using compact powder to set it I used some white face powder. You can also use a lighter foundation or mix white face paint to achieve really pale skin. Next I contoured my face with dark eyeshadows to make my face look hollow. I made sure to add a lot under my cheekbones to make them look more prominent. For my eyes I used a dark brown eyeshadow on my lids and a mix of brown and red on my bottom lash line to make my eyes look blood shot. To finish off the eyes I did a flicked out eyeliner look and added a coat of mascara. As for my brows I decided to go a little overboard and as you can see I made them darker and the arch more defined.

Now for the fun part. With a small angled brush I drew the outline of the 'mouth' with black eyeshadow. If you make a mistake you can easily fix it with some concealer. Next I took a bigger brush and just filled in the outline with the same black eyeshadow. To draw the teeth I used a small rounded brush and some white face paint. I found it really helpful to use my real teeth as a guide. I followed with a second coat of white to make them look extra opaque and not streaky. By now I looked like I had a huge white line on my face as all the teeth merged into each other. To fix this problem I took the same angled brush dipped in grey and outlined each tooth.

I was going to leave it like that but I decided to go ahead and make my mouth look like it had been ripped open. To do this it is very easy. I just took some deep red lipgloss and added it to the bottom of the mouth and blended it with some black eyeshadow. Next I added some more of the red lipgloss to make it look like the blood was still dripping from my mouth. I also blended some red on the top part of the mouth.

What do you think of this makeup look?

New Look Top // Zara Skirt // New Look Boots // Happiness Boutique Necklace*

I am a lover of autumn and winter style but to my dismay the weather here doesn't want cooperate as it is still basically in summer mode right now. That is why I decided to put together this outfit which is a mix of both the summer and autumn seasons.

I have been loving this orange-red rust colour and I think that it looks perfect with the style of the top. I love the skirt as it satisfies my love for circle skirts while being different as the pattern is woven in which creates a lovely texture. If you have been reading my blog for a really long time you have probably seen these boots pop up a few times. I think that the buckles and the chunky heel look amazing with the somewhat girly outfit. I feel like the necklace completes the look and adds some needed sparkle. You can find a full review on this beautiful necklace here. The last touch is the Revlon lipstick in Rosewine. I think that it adds a lovely warmth to the makeup look and it matches the colour of the top perfectly.

What do you think of this outfit?

makeup, school makeup, routine

Hello! Things around here have been very quiet recently and I have not posted in about two weeks (gasp!) As I said in a previous post I started school two weeks ago and I was not yet adjusted to my new routine with waking up so much earlier and the huge amount of school work! That is why I decided to have a little break until I felt ready to post again.

Today I am sharing with you my school makeup routine which I have been following recently.I am not one to wake up early just to put on my makeup and to do my hair perfectly, I love my bed too much to do that! Therefore I have found this routine which works perfectly for me as it is very quick and easy to do.

First I start by applying a small amount of foundation to my face and I make sure to blend it down my neck. I am currently using the Rimmel 25hr lasting finish in 103 true ivory. I find that it has a decent coverage and stays put for a good while. Next I apply some concealer under my eyes and on my blemishes which I currently have a lot of. I previously used the Maybelline instant age rewind concealer but it unfortunately ran out and I started using the Rimmel Match perfection in 010 ivory. To set my foundation and concealer I apply the Essence compact powder to my face and neck. On my cheeks I use my favourite coral blush from H&M in the shade dazzling peach. I find that blush makes me look more awake as it brings colour to my face. To finish off the look I apply a thin line of eyeliner on my eyes and a coat of mascara to my lashes. I am currently using the Essence liquid ink eyeliner and Essence maximum definition volume mascara. Normally I don't wear anything on my lips apart from some lipbalm so I decided to leave it out.

This look doesn't take me more than 5 minutes to do apart from when I smear my eyeliner. (Always have some q-tips and makeup remover on hand!) What makeup do you wear to school?

umbrellas, Marc Jacobs, Felix Rey, Kate Spade, DKNY, Vera Bradely

From left to right: Marc Jacobs // Felix Rey // Kate Spade // DKNY // Vera Bradely

When the weather begins to change the outfits do as well which is why every fashionista must have the best umbrella to match her autumn style! Here are some cute umbrellas which I have rounded up with additional information about the brand that created them.

1. Marc Jacobs designed this cheerful spring umbrella with a whimsical women in mind. He has no problem changing up his designs to make them very versatile. When asked how does his design process differ from one of his lines vs. the others and if he has a different woman in mind for each label, Marc Jacobs said that he's schizophrenic—no problem switching gears.

2. Felix Rey heart umbrella was designed by Lily Rafii Band and Sulaika Zarrouk. With writing all over this cute umbrella, Lily may have taken being organized a little too far by moving her mental notes to the wrong place (even though it turned out adorable). Having two babies with business consultant, Doug Band, Lily speaks about the importance of staying organized the best she can. Lily says that with two little babies at home, being organized has changed her life. Instead of mental notes and post-its, she make lists, keeps a family calendar at home, and sticks to a schedule as best as she can.

3. Kate Spade is the talented designer of this fabulous umbrella! Her brand took off in 2004 a couple years after realizing there was a need for an elegant yet simple style of handbags in the industry. Does the name Spade sound familiar? Kate’s brother in-law is the famous and hilarious comedian, David Spade, who might be seen carrying around this pink umbrella to make a statement. No? for some reason I could see it happening. “Playing dress up begins at age 5, and truly never ends” -Kate Spade

4. DKNY is the brand created by the remarkable designer, Donna Karan. She says that the most important lesson life has thought her is to be open to new ideas and that’s just what she has done. This cute polka dot umbrella brightens up a rainy day and could match a variety of different outfits. “For me, designing is an expression of who I am as a woman, with all the complications, feelings and emotions.” -DK

5. Vera Bradley is a brand that has taken the fashion world by storm. Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller are the co-founders of this successful brand named after Barbara’s mother, Veronica Bradley. Those who knew Vera agreed that her life was always full, fun and colorful; which this floral umbrella reflects beautifully. “I believe in the power of positive thinking…you have to always have in your mind that you can do it. I also believe your passion is like a mirror, always reflecting back to you what you see/show out.” - Patricia Miller

Which one of these umbrellas is your favourites?

born pretty review, owl hand cream, aloe hand cream

Today was the first day back at school and I'm really happy that it went well. Starting at a new school is always daunting. In today's post I will be reviewing another product from Born Pretty Store and I hope that you like it even though it's a day late!

If you know me, you will know that I'm obsessed with owls and I have even dedicated a whole post to them! When I saw this cute owl shaped handcream* ($5.50) I immediately put it in my shopping cart. The one I chose is the aloe scent which comes in an adorable green owl shape. There are many more scents available with equally cute packaging. The scent smells lovely and fresh like an aloe should. The cream feels amazing on my hands and leaves them feeling smooth. I will surely be putting this product to good use since the colder season is coming up and my hands will need as much moisture as possible to keep them from going dry.

Born Pretty Store is an online store that sells makeup, nail supplies, stationary and even clothing. They were even kind enough to give me a 10% off coupon code that you can use: EDLH10 (code is valid on items without discount)

This is the last item I will be reviewing and you can check out the other two product reviews which were the lollipop eyeshadow and the fruit lipgloss. If you noticed, I went for the cutest items I found but I can't help it as I get instantly drawn to pretty packaging!

What is your favourite hand cream?
