Dressfo top* // Dressfo trousers* // New Look heels // New Look Clutch // Accessorize ear cuff

I have been looking at culottes and wide legged trousers for a really long time but never got around to buying a pair. This is mostly because I was scared that they would actually make me look like a potato wearing a sack! But upon trying on these striped pants* from Dressfo, I think that I have been converted.

When looking for a pair of wide fitting pants I would suggest going for ones that are high-waisted, straight-legged and hip hugging so you don't look like you're drowning in fabric. In my opinion the best lengths are either below the knee (culottes) or ones that stop at the ankle like the ones I'm wearing. Busy prints usually get a big fat NOPE from me but I think that vertical stripes look lovely and can even create the illusion of longer looking legs. My favourite thing about these pants are the slits at the sides which help to break apart the amount of fabric.

Since the pants are loose fitting and patterned I decided to go for something that was simple and tight and this white spaghetti strapped cami top* from Dressfo was what I was looking for. I am in love with the cross over detail at the front as it adds a little something special to the somewhat plain top.

To complete the outfit I wore my trusty New Look block heels which have the perfect height. In my opinion heels and wide pants go hand in hand together as flat shoes can make you look a bit frumpy. This clutch is one of my favourites and I always find myself reaching for it. The final touch is this gorgeous ear cuff from Accessorize that is actually really painful to wear but beauty is pain...right? I didn't manage to show it that well in the photos so you can check out my December favourites to get a closer look.

I know that wide pants are not everyone's cup of tea but when you pick the right, fit, pattern and length they can be a really flattering addition to your wardrobe.

What are your thoughts on wide fitting trousers?

Fall makeup look, transitional makeup, summer to autumn makeup look

I love Autumn and autumnal colours and  autumn candles and the autumn weather (although the phrase cold weather is nearly non-existent in Malta). I love it so much that I even dedicated a whole post to it! Since Autumn started a few days ago I thought that it would be quite fitting to change up some of my products. In doing so I rediscovered a few of my old favourites that I had not used in months and I also introduced some new ones.

For this makeup look I used my usual base products of Rimmel foundation and concealer, Essence compact powder and did my usual brow routine. In autumn the summer tan begins to fade so your bonzer becomes your best friend. The Natural Collection bronzing pearls in tropical tan have been my recent favourites as they add a warm glow to the face. A few days ago I visited the newly opened 3ina makeup store and picked up this gorgeous blush in the shade 105. I'm usually all about peach blushers with a hint of shimmer and this muted version makes it perfect to wear in autumn.

As a base for the eyeshadow I applied the Maybelline colour tattoo in permanent taupe all over the lid. Next I applied the brown shade from the H&M nudes eyeshadows palette in the crease and brought it down under my eyes to balance the look. I used to love this palette so much and it used to be a staple in my makeup routine.

On top of my lid I applied the Golden Rose terracotta stardust in 105. It is a lovely golden shimmer powder which I'm still trying to get my head around to what it is actually supposed to be! It's too shimmery to be a bronzer or a blusher and too orange to be a highlighter so I'm just using it as an eyeshadow and it seems to work just fine. To finish the eye look I use the Soap & Glory supercat eyeliner (which I totally forgot to include in the photos) and applied a coat of my favourite Kiko ultra tech curve mascara.

I am a lover of berry lip shades and when I sense the first hint of Autumn I bring out my favourites. While going through my lipstick collection (which has been increasing quite quickly in size) I rediscovered the Rimmel Amethyst Shimmer lipstick which I had totally forgotten that I had. I used to wear it all the time and I had even included it in the first top 5 lip products post. It is not too dark which makes it a perfect transitional shade.

And this is the finished makeup look. It honestly looked so much better in real life but my camera wasn't in the mood to cooperate with me and kept taking blurry photos. Nonetheless, I still think that it looks lovely and I will definitely be wearing similar looks this Autumn.

Side note: Whilst looking for autumnal eyeshadows I noticed that I don't really have a lot of warm toned shades like orangey browns, coppers and auburns in my collection. Do you have any recommendations for palettes that would be perfect for this time?

Dressfo top* // New Look jeans // Nike trainers // New Look belt // Primark backpack

And all of a sudden school is only a few days away! As I said in a previous post, I will be starting my second year of sixth form which is both exciting and scary. Today I was going through my clothes to kind of plan some outfits for school and I came up with this. I always prefer to wear comfortable clothes for school so I opted for a t-shirt, jeans and trainers combo just like I did last year.

I chose this v-neck tee with leather look sleeves* from Dressfo. I love it and have been wearing it a lot lately since it's easy to throw on and matches with nearly everything. Dressfo is an online site that sells a wide range of items including dresses, tops, bottoms and swimwear among others. The people over at Dressfo were kind enough to provide me with more items which I will be reviewing next week.

I paired the top with these light wash jeans. To add a pop of colour to my outfit I chose to wear my Nike MDrunner trainers which I'm in love with. They are so comfortable to wear and they also look gorgeous. To continue with the leather look theme I added a belt and a backpack which I'm sure that it will get a lot of wear during the school time.

the konjac sponge co review, charcoal and bamboo angel face wash cloth,

My skin is currently going through a very terrible time of bumps and pimples so I was very happy when The Konjac Sponge Company got in contact with me. This company is the original and leading supplier of Konjac sponges and can be found in stores all over the world including luxury stores such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick.

the konjac sponge co review, charcoal and bamboo angel face wash cloth,

These sponges originate from south Korea and are 100% natural and mineral rich. Each sponge is made out of vegetable fibres and the company boasts a vegan and cruelty free range. There are sponges for each skin type which is always important when it comes to buying products suitable for your skin. Unlike other copies, these sponges are free of nasty chemicals and dyes.

The bamboo charcoal Angel Face wash cloth* (£12.99) is their newest product which was launched after the success of the original wash cloth. This skin-friendly alternative to a flannel or wash cloth is infused with activated charcoal powder. Charcoal helps to draw out dirt and bacteria from open pores and it is therefore most suitable for spot prone and oily skin.

Once soaked this becomes soft and jelly like which is a texture that's new to me. Below you can find a clip of the sponge being soaked for the first time to give you an idea of how it works. It can be used alone but I prefer to use it with other facial care products. I either use it to work in my face wash or to remove face masks. My skin feels amazing after I use it to remove masks such as The Body Shop tea tree oil mask and The Body Shop blue corn mask. This way it will remove all the old skin cells by providing a gentle exfoliation. After using you only need to rinse it, carefully squeeze out the water and hang it to dry. I usually place it over a clean glass cup to reduce the chances of it going mouldy. If used correctly the cloth can last up to 3 months.

I have been using it for around two weeks and I can already say that I love it! It leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and oil free. I definitely recommend checking out this sponge if you have oily skin like me or pick up the original which is suitable for all skin types. Apart from wash cloths The Konjac Sponge Co also have body, facial, tattoo and even dog sponges available so you will surely find one that you like.

Have you heard about konjac sponges?

school beauty bag essentials, sixth form makeup, school makeup bag

Even though it feels like the summer holidays only started yesterday I need to face the truth that school will start soon. You may have already started your school year but fortunately I still have a week and a half to go! I will be starting my second year of sixth form which basically means A levels, studying, exams and stress! Hopefully I will still find time to keep up with both the blog schedule and the school work!

Today I'm going through my beauty bag essentials for school which I always need to have with me.

When it comes to makeup products I always have a few of these items with me. Last year I shared my school makeup routine which included the whole shabang...well that routine only lasted for a grand total of a few weeks. After a month I realized that having to wake up a few minutes earlier was a waste of time so I settled for only a few makeup bits.

If I were to actually wear makeup on that day I would apply a bit of concealer to try to hide the lack of sleep and some mascara and eyeliner to make my eyes stand out more. Occasionally I would apply a bit of lip balm and I was done. In the last few months I have been paying more attention to my brows so I will be adding a brow pencil to my makeup routine.

Apart from makeup I also take a few other random bits. A small mirror always comes in handy to check how much my makeup has slid off my face and how many pimples have decided to show up. Blotting tissues are great for mattifying your face on the go after a particularly long and sweaty day. Hair bands and hair clips can always be found in my bag because I'm one of those people who will go crazy if I'm not able to pull back my hair.  An antibacterial hand gel is a must for school especially for those times when you accidentally touch the underneath of the desk! Tissues are a no brainer and plasters are great for emergencies. The last thing that I take with me is a perfume sample. Sometimes you have to spray a spritz of this after a sweaty PE lesson!

Style We Dress* // Miss Selfridge Sandals

Style We is an online store that sells items by independent designers. The store has a wide range of clothing items to choose from including dresses, tops, bottoms, knits and even sportswear. I immediately went for the dresses since they have a lovely selection. It was a hard task to find the one that I liked the most but at the end I settled for this Sleeveless Embroidered Elegant Mini Dress*. If you read my last wishlist you will know that I am currently obsessed with embroidery! I was so excited when I opened the package and got to try it on. I am usually a UK 8/10 and the size M was the best fit. It fit me perfectly and the sizes on the site are accurate. To finish of the look I paired the beautiful dress with this pair white of strappy sandals which I have featured before. I think that they look really nice when paired with the dress.

If you are interested in Style We you can also find them on Pinterest and read their blog. I highly recommend checking out their site for high quality items, especially the dresses which are so gorgeous!

eyebrow routine

For me brows are an important part of any makeup look as they help to frame the face and make your features more defined. Today I am sharing with you my eyebrow routine, how I tame them and the products that I use.

eyebrow routine

My brows are not too hard to maintain so I mostly do them my self. I start by tweezing and cleaning up the brows to make the shape more defined. Then I brush them up with a brush and using a small pair of scissors I trim the hairs that are longer. I then brush the hairs downwards and do the same thing. Above I inserted a photo of before and after cleaning up the shape.

For everyday brows I use the BarryM BrowWow in light-medium which I featured in my August favourites. It is very easy to fill the sparse gaps and the waxy products makes the brows stay in place. It also has a spoolie brush at the opposite end which I use after filling in to disperse the colour and make them more natural.

When I have more time on my hands I fill them in with the matte brown shade from the MUR romantic smoked palette. The brush that I always use the the flat angled brush from the Tmart bamboo brush set that I reviewed a while ago. I start from the front of the brow and apply the shadow in strokes that follow the growth of the hair. I feel like this makes the brows look more natural. To finish off I use the clear gel from Essence to hold the hairs in place.

H&M top // H&M skirt // Peacocks sandals // Pimkie bag // Le Specs sunglasses

A few days ago my family and I visited the beautiful San Anton Gardens here in Malta. I had not been there for a long time and it was lovely to explore the place since it brings back childhood memories. While I was there I took the opportunity to get some photos taken. Fortunately there weren't a lot of people around so it wasn't as awkward!

These are basically the items that I have been living in all summer. I swear that I have been wearing this button down skirt nearly every single day since I bought it and I feel like the crop top goes perfectly with it. I wear these bag and sunglasses nearly every time I go out as they match with every outfit. For me it's quite the task to find sunglasses that suit my face so when I find a great pair I usually stick with them. I think that these lace up sandals are so cute and I have never had anything like them!

August favourites 2016, the body shop, sleek, natural collection, BarryM

It's the end of August so it only means one thing...August favourites! I have to say that August was definitely not one of my favourite months so far this year mostly because I spent most of it revising for my exams (which I am now free of!) I have quite a lot of new favourites this month since I received a lot of lovely items for my birthday in July and I also made quite a few purchases while in London!

Natural Collection Bronzing Pearls in Tropical Tan // This product has been a staple in my makeup routine and you can probably tell from the state of the packaging. I usually swirl a large fluffy brush and apply it onto my face to give it that sun kissed colour (which I am seriously lacking of right now!)

The Body Shop Raspberry Body Butter // I always have a body butter at hand and when I ran out of my strawberry one I picked up this raspberry one. I am not usually too keen on really sweet and fruity scents but I quite like this one and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturised.

The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette // This definitely has to be my favourite summer scent and I have been reaching for it frequently. It smells really light and sweet without being too overpowering. The other thing that I like about it is the gorgeous bottle which you have probably seen in the background of my latest posts.

BarryM Brow Wow in Light-Medium // As I said in my haul post it is perfect for quickly filling in my brows and the brush on the other side is very handy. The only downside is that you have to actually sharpen it but I can overlook that!

Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit // I'm sure that you have heard me talk about it already, either from my Instagram or from previous posts. It is the one that I reach for the most since it's a lovely nude shade and I'm even wearing it in the profile picture!

The Body Shop British Rose Shower Gel // I have to admit this but I am usually against any type of rose scents! I find them to be too overpowering and kind of remind me of a scent an old lady would wear. But this one proved to be an exception. The scent is very delicate and light which I love and I have been using it a lot.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?
