Skin Care Routine for Oily/Blemished Skin

skin care routine for oily and blemished skin using products from The Body Shop, Simple, Garnier and The Konjac Sponge Co

As a person that has frequent breakouts and has sensitive skin, my skin care routine is very important. I frequently change up the products that I use as part of my routine and as you can see from my old skin care routine back in the spring of last year, most of the products are different. Since it has been more than a year since that post, I decided that it was about time that I did an updated one.

I want to start off by saying that I don't follow the routine everyday. In the mornings I usually just use the face wash and apply some moisturizer but I try to follow all the steps in the evening. It is my way of relaxing and winding down before I go to sleep.

skin care routine, garnier micellar cleansing water

I start off by removing my makeup using the Garnier Micellar cleansing water. I pour a few drops of this to cotton pads and gently rub onto my skin in circular motions. It removes a lot of the tough makeup like eyeliner and mascara in one swipe.

The Konjac sponge Company, bamboo charcoal angel face cloth

Currently I'm using The Body Shop tea tree skin clearing facial wash and mattifying toner. I massage a blob of the face wash onto damp skin with upward circular motions. It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and squeaky clean while also removing any makeup that had escaped the Micellar cleansing water. To wash it off I have been using The Konjac Sponge Co angel cloth* that I reviewed a few weeks ago. It gently exfoliates and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth! To top it off I apply some of  toner all over my face. You have to give it a good shake to get everything nicely mixed together as it has a different oil at the bottom. The toner removes the last traces of makeup and also helps to reduce the appearance of pores.

skin care routine, simple anti-blemish moisturizer

To put some moisture back into my skin I squeeze out a dollop of the Simple spotless skin anti-blemish moisturiser. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and glowing without leaving any oils behind. Up until a few months ago I always skipped this step but nowadays I can never skip applying moisturiser before I leave the house in the morning.

skin care routine, the body shop tea tree oil

The Body Shop tea tree oil comes to the rescue when I have a particularly bad breakout or a huge zit has decided to pop up in the middle of my forehead. I apply about two or three drops on to a cotton pad and apply it gently to the blemished areas.
