Carnival in Malta

Hi everybody :)

I know that this is not what I typically post about but today I have decided to give you an insight on Maltese culture. Last Sunday I went to the Carnival which is a traditional feast dating back to the 16th century.  Carnival takes place in the weeks before Lent. People gather up in the villages, mainly in the capital city Valletta, dressed in costumes and masks and parade in the streets. Many dances and floats are prepared for the Carnival.

These are some photos of the dances which I took last Sunday.

I may share with you more photos of Carnival in the coming week. During the next three weeks I will be sitting for some exams so I may not post as frequently.

Thanks for stopping by.
