Geometric Halloween Makeup

geometric Halloween makeup look 2016

Last year I had a lot of fun creating a Halloween makeup look and I decided to also come up with something this year. Last Halloween's look was more on the creepy/horror side as that is my favourite type of makeup but this year I wanted to try something different.

To create this look I would suggest by starting with the base products like foundation, powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter. I did the look the other way round and had quite a few problems.

To create the geometric part I started by applying some white liquid face paint on the area of your face that you want to apply it to and set it with pressed powder. I found that the best way to apply the face paint was with a beauty blender.

Now comes the hardest fun part: drawing the lines. I'm not going to lie, this was really tricky to do. You need to have a really steady hand so it is best to find a flat surface to rest your arm on while you draw on the lines.

Firstly outline the edge of your face with eyeliner and mark the starting points like the middle of the cheek and the top of the cheekbone. The best way to draw the lines is to follow the natural edges of your face like the edge of the mouth, chin, nose, jaw bone and eyebrow. This will be an easy guideline to follow and a way to enhance your features. When you are done with the lines, takes some concealer on a flat brush and clean up around the edges so you will have a cleaner look.

The last thing is the eyes and lips. To help balance out the look I filled in my brows with black eyeshadow so that they frame the face. On the eye lids I applied a dark shimmery purple shadow, blended out an orange shade in the crease and applied some liner and mascara. The last touch was a coat orange lipgloss because when else other than Halloween can you get away with wearing this colour?

What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

  12. Congratulations! You created an amazing Halloween makeup! I have to admit I never did such kind of a makeup - I fear I'm not skilled enough for this. But with your helpful description maybe it will work :)

  14. For some reason this makeup look reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas! It turned out great, although it must be tricky indeed to draw the black lines. I like the pop of colour that the orange lipgloss adds, and it definitely is the best time of year to wear that colour :P
This Halloween I'm going for a sort of vampire look that I've just uploaded the tutorial of actually :)
