3 Days in London | Photo Diary

As promised, although a month late, here is my London photo diary! I have already shared a London Weekend Guide which seems to have gone down quite well, so feel free to check it out if you haven't already.

In case you didn't know, my mum and I went for a short weekend break to London at the end of February. In this post, I'm going to share what we did and the photos I took. Maybe this will give you some ideas on what to do if you visit London (which  I highly suggest doing).

Day 1

After arriving at the hotel at midday, my mum and I decided to go for a walk around the area and grab some lunch. Our hotel gave us a complimentary meal at one of its restaurants and we chose Bloom & Willow. Everything was delicious and I loved the cosy atmosphere.

Afterwards, we headed to St. Paul's Cathedral. We used Get Your Guide to get a discount on our tickets and I can't recommend it enough. St Paul's cathedral was definitely the highlight of the holiday. Unfortunately, you can't take photos inside but I still managed to take a lot from the top and around it. If we were allowed to take photos inside, I could have dedicated a whole post to it. It's breathtaking both inside and outside! Also, the stairs to the dome may seem a bit intimidating but they are totally worth it.

I spied a Topshop from the dome, so we headed out to find it when we were done from seeing the cathedral. After finding (and purchasing) from Topshop we headed to the Millennium bridge and walked to the other side. It was absolutely freezing on the bridge and I don't think that I've ever felt that cold!

Straight after buying a coffee to warm up, we took the bus to Trafalgar square and wandered around for a bit before The Phantom of the Opera started. I loved this musical and if you ever get the chance to see it definitely do!

Day 2

We first headed to Hyde Park which was lovely to walk in during the morning. After passing by Buckingham Palace (because it's a must!), we went strolling in St James' Park.

Next up was Westminster Abbey. We also bought our entrance tickets from Get Your Guide for a discount on the price. Westminster is beautiful, especially the inner altar area and has such a huge ground area.

After seeing all of Westminster, we decided to go for a walk along the river bank. This wasn't the best idea as we were already tired but we did manage to see a lot of sights.

We then headed to Covent Garden which was such a lovely place. It was Saturday so it was a bit too busy but there was a lot going on. The pho I had at Pho was the best thing to warm us as it was so cold!

By this point, we should have headed back to the hotel to have a rest but instead we went to Kensington. This was a bit of a mistake as we were a bit too tired to enjoy the rest of the evening! We went to the Victoria & Albert Museum, passed by the Royal Abert Hall and even managed to walk by Kensington Palace at sunset.

Day 3

This was our last day in London but we were determined to do everything we still had on our list. We first headed to the British Museum which is free entry. The building is so beautiful. I love the interior circular courtyard with the skylights and since it was sunny the room was filled with sunlight.

No trip to London is complete without a visit to Oxford Street! Since we didn't have that much time we only went to Primark but as you can see from the photo below, we did do quite a bit of damage!

Since we still had some time to kill, we got some lunch at Wasabi next to Primark and then walked through Leicester Square, went into M&M World and ended up in Picadilly Circus.

This was the end of our short break and we headed back to the Hotel to collect our suitcases and headed to the airport to catch our flight.

I hope that you enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! These types of posts are my favourites because they are filled with memories and always look back on them.

Where are your favourite places in London?
