Simple Summer Makeup Routine

Simple summer makeup routine using Kiko, Essence, Rimmel and Cien makeup

As the temperatures have been soaring (and believe me, they are barely bearable!) I have also been changing up my usual makeup routine for a much simpler and lighter one.

Essence eyeliner pen, Kiko ultra tech curve mascara
Cien All-in-One BB cream
Kiko smooth temptation lipstick
Essence compact powder, Rimmel match perfection concealer

Face // As a replacement for foundation I have been using the Cien All-in-One BB cream in the shade light. It doesn't have the best coverage but it has enough that it hides the redness and mattifies my face. I recommend this to anyone that has oily skin and is looking for a light coverage for a really affordable price. The only negative thing that I have to say is that the range of shades is not as wide and I have only been able to wear this after spending some time in the sun as I am quite pale. I have been using the Rimmel match perfection concealer in the shade ivory for some time now. It is a really great concealer for both the under eye and for blemishes. To set my face makeup I am using my usual Essence powder in the shade pastel beige.

Eyes // For quite some time I had forgotten all about the Essence eyeliner pen but since rediscovering it I have been using it frequently. I find that it's both easier and faster to apply eyeliner with a pen instead of the liquid version. Since this eyeliner is longlasting it stays put after a long and hot day. I recently visited a Kiko store and this ultra tech curve mascara was one of the items that I picked up. I can say that I am in love and it's definitely one of my favourites so far. As the name suggests it is a curling mascara and I find that it is also a lengthening one.

Lips // The Kiko sweet temptation lipstick in 04 is also a recent purchase. It has been among my current lipstick favourites as it is a lovely nudish pink which is perfect for everyday wear.

Do you change up your routine with the change of seasons?

Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. I also tend to wear lighter makeup when the weather gets better. When it's warm, you don't want to feel like your makeup it totally melting! Worst feeling ever haha. Eyeliner is much more practical than eyeshadows on hot days, it stays on for hours without moving :)

  7. Great blog post dear! Loved every part of it. Never tried the foundation by Cien but I tend to move away from such foundations as I would need more coverage. Keep up the great work xxx

  17. In the summer I tend not to wear any make up at all, but when I'm heading out or something like that I do go for a lighter option. So I use some light fondation with a little bit of mascara and a lipstick :D

  21. I tend to use powder products in the colder months and cream in the Summer because powder doesn't seem to last as long on me. I wish Kiko is available in Canada, I have a long list of products to try from them.
