11 things I realised when I moved out

If you have been reading my blog in the past month, you may know that I have moved out in order to be closer to university.

Now that I have been living in the new flat with my flatmates for a few months, I have picked up on a few things that normally I wouldn't have noticed.

  1. While packing you realise how much useless junk you have in your room
  2. The first food shop will probably leave your wallet gasping for air
  3. You feel like you're living in a stranger's home during the first week
  4. Doing the dishes is a never-ending task
  5. Washing up the clothes is a battle against the rain that you will never win
  6. Sometimes your food will 'mysteriously' disappear from the fridge
  7. You can stay up all night and no one will say anything (although I much prefer to be in bed by 9)
  8. Your cooking will probably not be as good as your parents' home cooked meals
  9. Your money will start flying out straight from your pockets
  10. The rate at which dust collects is faster than you can ever clean
  11. I know this is quite a cliche but freedom truly is sweet

Have you also experienced any of these things when you first moved out?
